What is OSHA compliance?

Being OSHA-compliant means that a workplace is following specific regulations set by the Occupational Safety and Hazard Administration, says the Houston Chronicle. These regulations were created to reduce and prevent potentially expensive work-related injuries and hazards.

Business owners can remain compliant with OSHA regulations by creating a hazard communication plan, an emergency action plan standard and a fire evacuation plan, notes the Houston Chronicle. An adequate number of fire exits that are compliant with OSHA and fire department codes are also necessary. OSHA posters and other reading material should be placed around the workspace, and a business owner should also make sure he remains updated on the latest OSHA guidelines and requirements.
