How is an outline in APA formatted?
By Forinfos - 28/01/2026 - 0 comments
An APA-formatted outline lists each topic and subtopic in a manner that builds on the paper's central argument and works toward its conclusion. Include an introduction that contains just enough information to give the paper context at the beginning of the outline.
Formatting used in the APA-style paper itself is used in the outline. Margins should be set at 1-inch on all sides, the font set for Times New Roman at 12 points, and all paragraphs double spaced. Main headings are composed of Roman numerals and subheadings feature capital letters. Beneath sub-headings, Arab numerals then lower case letters are used, followed by Arab numerals inside parenthesis.
