What are some over-the-counter treatments for Ménière's disease?
By Forinfos - 29/08/2025 - 0 comments
Over-the-counter treatments available to manage the symptoms of Ménière's disease include antivertigo and antinausea medications, says Drugs.com. Lifestyle changes, such as avoiding nicotine, alcohol, caffeine and salt, may also help lessen the symptoms.
There is no cure for Ménière's disease, as of 2015, so the only options available manage the symptoms of vertigo and nausea caused by the damaged inner ear. Besides over-the-counter remedies, a doctor can also prescribe a diuretic that helps decrease the build-up of liquid in the inner ear, according to Drugs.com. In more serious cases, the doctor may inject an antibiotic into the middle ear to stop the onset of vertigo.
