The National Joint Apprenticeship Training Center is a joint program of the National Electrical Contractors Association and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. It is a program that gives electrical apprentices the opportunity to earn a paycheck while they learn their craft.
Nationwide, there are over 300 of these NJATC training programs as of 2015. The programs are run and funded in a joint effort by the electrical contractors employing the apprentices and the electrical unions to which the apprentices belong. The cost of the program is factored into the pay rate and the union dues of the apprentices in the program.
