Where is Paris?

Paris is a western European city located within the country of France. Geographically speaking, Paris is located at the longitude and latitude of 48° 51' N, 2° 21' E and has an altitude of 34 meters, or 114 feet.

Paris is situated in the north central part of France and serves as the country's capital. The city is positioned at the heart of the Paris Region, otherwise known as the Il de France. Paris lies on either side of the River Seine, encompassing approximately 8 miles of the river about 233 miles above the mouth of the river were it connects to the English Channel.
