What percentage of women go into labor at 38 weeks?

Eighty-five percent of mothers go into labor and deliver within a 2-week radius of their due dates, meaning 38 to 42 weeks, according to Pampers. Because ultrasounds are often inaccurate as to when a baby was really conceived, sometimes by as much as 2 weeks, it is difficult to tell when a labor is actually occurring at 38 weeks.
It is very common to induce labor due to discomfort or logistical concerns surrounding the timing of a child's birth, as reported by National Public Radio. This often results in earlier delivery.
While induced birth is often safe, delivering before 39 weeks can lead to complications due to poor estimation of actual conception time.
