How big does a shepherd hound mix grow?

German shepherds are generally 22 to 26 inches tall; however, they can be bred with almost any kind of hound. Hounds range in size from small to large. The puppies of such a pairing could get their height traits from either parent.

Some of the most common hounds include beagles, Basenji, Hamilton hounds, Basset hounds and Coonhounds. These breeds also tend to be within the 22 to 26 inches height marks, so the puppies would likely grow to that size. If bred with a greyhound or American foxhound, the dog would likely be slightly larger. If bred with a dachshund or Norwegian elkhound, the puppy may grow to a smaller size.
