Is a Corgi-Shepherd mix a good family dog?

A typical Australian Shepherd and Corgi mix, also called an Augi, is a wonderfully affectionate, playful and intelligent pet, suitable for a family. Mixed breed dogs inherit a combination of traits from the breeds in their lineage, however, so individual temperaments and traits may vary widely.

Augis are generally smart and affectionate and possess family-loving temperaments. They train easily and are eager to please. They appreciate an active family who plays with them and helps expend their energy. Attention-loving Augis do well around children and other pets. They have strong herding instincts that may lead them to nip ankles but never viciously.
