J.D. Robb's first novel is "Naked in Death" and was released on July 1, 1995. The novel follows Eve Dallas, a New York police lieutenant hunting for a killer. She has a romantic relationship with an Irish billionaire named Rourke who is a suspect in her investigation.

In "Obsession in Death," a murderer becomes obsessed with Eve Dallas. The murderer leaves messages for Eve at the crime scenes, but Eve refuses to turn the investigation over to another officer, even though the murders are very personal.
