What is elephant meat called?

Elephant meat does not have a specific name; however, it is referred to as bushmeat. Bushmeat is a term that describes meat from any wild animal that is hunted in Africa, Asia and South America.
Elephants are an endangered species. The meat from this animal has recently started being sold on the black market. Not only is it illegal to sell elephant (and other endangered animals) meat, but it is also a health hazard. Viruses, such as Ebola, can be contracted and spread when dealing with this raw meat. The government and other organizations have been working together to stop this bushmeat trade; however, there are still violators that continue to sell this meat.
