What is it like to own a Newfoundland Landseer dog?
By Forinfos - 11/05/2026 - 0 comments
The Newfoundland is a very large shaggy dog, and the Landseer is a black and white color variant of the normally all-black Newfoundland. They are calm and laid-back as adults, but they do require daily exercise and must be taken on one or two brisk walks daily.
Newfoundlands track dirt and water into the house. They need to be groomed regularly because they often have some dirt and weeds clinging to them. They shed heavily and drool a lot. Newfoundlands prefer to be with their owners in the house and do not do well if kenneled or kept outside. They are not dogs for a fastidious owner.
