Does the SPCA facilitate puppy adoptions?

The SPCA facilitates puppy adoptions and dog adoptions at various locations around the United States, including in Houston, Texas, at the Houston SPCA and San Francisco, California, at the San Francisco SPCA. SPCA facilities may also offer kitten and cat adoptions, equine adoptions, farm animal adoptions and small mammal adoptions.

Each SPCA facility has its own requirements for puppy adoption; however, general requirements are similar to the requirements at the Houston SPCA facility. These requirements include being 18 years of age, having identification that lists the prospective pet owner's current address and the adoption fee. The SPCA asks questions to any prospective pet owners to ensure that they can afford a pet and can handle the responsibilities of owning a pet.
