PhytoSpecific relaxers are reportedly safe for fine or delicate hair. There is also a PhytoSpecific relaxer for normal, thick or coarse hair. The product contains egg- and soy-based products that protect the hair and prevent dryness and breakage. The relaxer is also free of parabens, which are preservatives that are included in beauty products to prevent bacterial growth. However, parabens mimic the function of estrogen and can cause hormonal disruption.
