Where are pit bulls not allowed?

Some apartment complexes and hotels that generally allow dogs forbid pit bulls from living there as a matter of individual policy. The United States military also labels pit bulls as a "dangerous breed" and has banned them from privatized housing on a number of U.S. military bases.

Some types of lodging establishments have a "vicious breed" or "dangerous breed" policy that forbids certain types of dogs from being kept there. Pit bulls are very commonly found on these lists. Government-subsidized housing programs, such as Section 8 and public housing, may also have stipulations that forbid participants from keeping pit bulls.
