PLA plastic, or polylactic acid, is a bio-based plastic made from renewable raw materials and is environment and resource friendly. It is used in fast food packaging, bottles, T-shirts, coffee cups and many other items used by people every day.
PLA plastic is primarily made from renewable sources, such as sugar, chips or starch and tapioca roots. It can be processed by sheet and film casting, spinning and extrusion injection molding, which provides access to many different materials. Because of its versatility, it can be used for medical implants, while also being usable in 3-D printers and the automotive industry.
