Many people also place personal ads on dating websites. As of 2014, some of the top dating websites include OKCupid.com, eHarmony.com, Lavalife.com and Match.com.

Some dating websites have evolved to serve the needs of niche groups. For example, CougarLife.com caters to young men seeking older women, and FarmersOnly.com advertises it doesn't serve city folk but helps farmers find other farmers to love.
