PMS nausea is nausea that is caused by PMS, or premenstrual syndrome. According to the Department of Health and Human Services, PMS happens in the week leading up to a woman's period and includes other symptoms, such as fatigue, insomnia, back pain, headache, food cravings, constipation, bloating and mood swings.
Menstrual discomfort and symptoms range from no symptoms at all to debilitating pain and discomfort that interferes with normal activities. Together, severe PMS symptoms are known as premenstrual dysphoric disorder, or PMDD. According to the Mayo Clinic, medroxyprogesterone acetate, also known as Depo-Provera, is sometimes used in severe cases of PMDD to stop ovulation and alleviate symptoms.
