What is the most points scored by an individual in an NCAA Division I basketball game?

In January of 1991, Kevin Bradshaw scored 72 points in a college basketball game, setting a record that was still unbeaten into the 21st century. During that record-breaking game, Bradshaw's U.S. International University team was defeated by Loyola Marymount University, 186-140.

During the 1990-91 season, Bradshaw set a record for the most average points per game in a single season with a massive 37.6 PPG average. In 2012, ESPN reported that Bradshaw's impressive single-game scoring record was so secure that no player had come within even 10 points of beating it in two decades. At the time, ESPN reported that Bradshaw was working as a high school teacher and basketball coach in San Diego.
