Some popular black comedians are Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, Kevin Hart and Chris Rock. These comedians are famous for their television shows, movie roles and stand-up comedy acts.

Richard Pryor was one of the first successful black comedians in the United States. Pryor made fun of the racial division in the United States and was viewed by people of different racial backgrounds. Eddie Murphy became famous due to his role on the show "Saturday Night Live." He went on to star in films such as "The Nutty Professor," Coming to America" and "Shrek."

Kevin Hart burst into the national scene with his high-grossing comedy tour "Laugh at My Pain" in 2011. He went on to star in several Hollywood movies. Chris Rock was a former cast member of "Saturday Night Live," and went on to produce and star in several comedy shows and movies.
