Is it possible to floss too much?

It is not possible to floss too much. Water Tower Dental Care recommends flossing once every 24 hours, and again after consuming messy meals that leave food stuck in between teeth.
Flossing is a critical part of maintaining healthy gums. Flossing removes the plaque and bacteria that build up between teeth that brushing alone cannot reach. Plaque and bacteria take longer to build up on the side of teeth than they do on top of teeth. It typically takes about 24 hours for new plaque and bacteria to form after flossing, so while flossing multiple times per day is not harmful, it also is not beneficial to gum health.
