How do you find the potassium content of foods?

By Forinfos - 01/07/2025 - 0 comments

Determine the potassium content of particular foods by searching for the food in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Nutrient Database. Alternatively, find a list of foods and their potassium content on Drugs.com.

The USDA’s National Nutrient Database alphabetizes foods and features a linkable page for each food in the database. You can also click on the search box to find a specific food, limit the search to particular food groups or see only foods from a particular manufacturer. On Drugs.com, you can access a list of high, medium and low potassium foods. For example, the website notes that one medium banana has 425 milligrams of potassium while 1/2 cup of cucumbers has just 80 milligrams.
