Do all power door locks contain an actuator?
By Forinfos - 26/02/2025 - 0 comments
A power door lock actuator is the mechanism in all vehicles that feature power lock doors. Each door has its own actuator, although they work in unison when locked or unlocked.
Without a power door lock actuator, the power lock feature will not function. The actuator is usually part of the door's locking mechanism. Some newer cars feature integrated actuators rather than a remote rod or cable connection. When the power lock feature is used with a switch or remote fob, an electrical current is sent to the actuator that locks and unlocks the doors. The durability of a power lock actuator depends on the manufacturer and usage.
