Some prominent commercial banks are JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo Bank, Citibank and U.S. Bank. As of March 2015, these five banks are the largest commercial banks in the country, according to the Federal Reserve.
JPMorgan Chase earned revenues of nearly $98 billion in 2014, with 5,576 domestic branches, while Bank of America had revenues of $85.1 billion and 4,894 domestic branches. Wells Fargo was named the country's most valuable bank in 2014 due to its large base of retail depositors. Of the top five, Citibank has the widest international presence with 273 foreign branches. The Ethisphere Institute named U.S. Bank as a 2015 World's Most Ethical Company, the only large American bank to receive the distinction.
