Volume is the property of matter that is measured in cubic centimeters with the larger unit being cubic meters. Volume is defined as the three-dimensional space occupied by an object.
The capacity of a vessel is the volume of liquid it can hold and is expressed in liters and milliliters. Most regular objects such as a cube, cuboid, cone, sphere and a cylinder have formulas to calculate their volume.
For instance, the formula to calculate the volume of a cylinder is V=(pi)r^2h, where r is the radius of the cylinder and h is the height. For a cylinder with radius 7 centimeters and height 21 centimeters, its volume is V=(pi)r2h = 22/7 x 7 x 7 x 21 = 3234 cubic centimeters, or 3234/1000 = 3.234 liters.
