Who provides group health insurance?

Employers are the ones who provide or offer group health insurance. There are several companies that offer group health insurance for employers to purchase and provide to their employees.

Some of the companies that offer group health insurance include Group Health, eHealth and several companies through HealthCare.gov. When an employee is eligible for group health insurance, their family members are also eligible. Some employers offer this health insurance for free and others will charge a fee for the employees and their families to have access to it. As of 2015, small employers are not required to offer health insurance to their employees but most choose to do so.
