Why is pyroclastic flow dangerous?

The danger of pyroclastic flow comes from its speed and heat. According to Michigan Technological University, pyroclastic flows have reached extreme high temperatures, including flows from the Mt. Pelee eruption that got as hot as 1,967 Fahrenheit (1,075 Celsius).
Pyroclastic flow is an extremely dangerous form of lava flow resulting from volcanic eruption. It moves very fast thanks to its consistency and the effects of gravity. These flows are highly destructive and can quickly burn any vegetation, structures, and animals — including humans — that are in their paths. Because it moves so quickly, evacuating from a pyroclastic flow can be difficult if volcanic eruptions occur without warning.
