What are the raw materials used in photosynthesis?
By Forinfos - 24/06/2025 - 0 comments
The raw materials that are used in photosynthesis are carbon dioxide and water. These raw materials, combined with energy from sunlight, are used to produce usable energy in the form of glucose, along with a waste product of oxygen.
Photosynthesis is the process that plants use to create energy to sustain their life. The process occurs primarily in the chloroplasts. Water is taken in through the roots of the plant, sunlight is absorbed through the green pigment chlorophyll and carbon dioxide is absorbed from the air. It takes six molecules of carbon dioxide, and six molecules of water in order to produce a single glucose molecule.
