While it is possible to enjoy James Patterson's "Alex Cross" series if read in any order, the series is much more enjoyable if read chronologically. Doing so increases the reader's likelihood of picking up on references to earlier events and characters.
The "Alex Cross" series focuses on the exploits of its titular FBI agent and psychologist, who helps police officers and detectives solve major cases. The series is comprised of twenty-one books, the first of which is "Along Came a Spider." The next four books in the series are "Kiss the Girls," "Jack and Jill," "Cat and Mouse," and "Pop Goes the Weasel." The most recent book in the series is titled "Hope to Die."
