Do you receive more benefits from Medicare as you get older?

While the Medicare benefits that are available do not change as consumers get older, what services a person needs may change. For example, a person who has just signed up for Medicare at the age of 65 may not receive the benefits as someone who is 85 due to necessity.
A person may also need additional prescriptions as they get older, or they may need coverage for a stay in a skilled nursing facility. This can make it look like someone is getting more Medicare benefits as they get older. However, the amount of benefits that a consumer is eligible for does not change over time.
