What are the recommended immunizations for children?

Recommended vaccinations for babies from birth to age 15 months include hepatitis B, rotavirus, diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis, and influenza type B vaccines, according to Vaccines.gov. Others include pneumonia, polio, varicella, hepatitis A and meningitis. Additionally, a combination measles, mumps and rubella vaccine is standard for babies this age.

From age 18 months to 18 years, children receive a schedule of additional doses or booster doses for these vaccines, reports Vaccines.gov. In addition, children age 11 to 12 may receive vaccination against human papillomavirus, or HPV, given in a three-dose series. Vaccines.gov offers a complete immunization schedule in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.
