What is the recommended time to arrive for an Anacortes ferry departure?

The Washington State Department of Transportation recommends passengers with vehicles arriving at least 20 minutes prior to the scheduled departure of ferries from the Anacortes terminal. Vehicles are loaded in the order in which they arrived. Walk-up passengers are also advised to arrive at the terminal 20 minutes early.

For vehicle passage on ferries out of the Anacortes terminal, WSDOT offers vehicle reservations up to two months in advance. Travelers are still advised to arrive 20 minutes early to claim a reservation. Furthermore, on the Anacortes ferry route, a limited number of vehicle spots are held open for drive-up passengers.
