What region is Arizona in?

Arizona is located in the Mountain West region, one of the official regions designated by the U.S. Census Bureau. The other states included in this region are Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Montana, Utah, Nevada and Wyoming.
Arizona is also commonly considered part of the American Southwest region. Other states often considered as part of the Southwest region include California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah. Arizona is also one of the "Four Corners" states, meeting at a corner with neighboring Utah, Colorado and New Mexico. The state is also located on the Colorado Plateau, which includes portions of Utah, New Mexico and Colorado.
