Recent developments have shown frankincense’s potential to treat cancer. According to BBC News’ Jeremy Howell, scientists have shown that frankincense contains a bioactive agent that is potent against cancerous cells, implying that the sap from Boswellia sacra tree could be used to treat the killer disease if confirmed.
Studies are ongoing to identify and isolate the specific bio-agent present in frankincense that could treat cancer. According to Howell, scientists have already observed that frankincense causes cancer cells to close themselves down and stop spreading. Howell notes that frankincense works by resetting the DNA code of the cancerous cells, hence controlling their growth.
