Reliance peach trees are exceptionally hardy varieties of peach trees that can withstand temperatures as low as minus 25 degrees Fahrenheit. They grow well in U.S. Department of Agriculture zones 5 to 8.
Reliance peach trees need to spend 1,000 hours per year at temperatures lower than 45 degrees Fahrenheit to begin growing. If they are grown in environments too warm for them, they remain dormant and produce less fruit. They are self-pollinating trees that produce freestone peaches in late summer. They must receive full sun exposure for at least six hours a day and grow best when planted at the top of a slope.
