How do I remove fingernail polish?

Fingernail polish can be removed with a variety of substances. To begin, you need a removal substance, such as acetone or non-acetone polish remover, and an applicator, such as a cotton ball or disposable towel. This process should take about five minutes, or 30 seconds per nail.
Soak the applicator with the removal solution
Cotton balls are the most commonly used applicators, but folded tissues or paper towels also are effective.
Press the soaked blotter firmly on the nail
Hold the material on the nail for at least 30 seconds.
Wipe the applicator away from the cuticle and off the nail
If any polish remains, repeat the process or wipe the remaining spots with the applicator.
Repeat steps 1-3, replacing applicator as needed
When the applicator becomes ripped, saturated or dirty, replace with a fresh one.
Throw applicators away and wash hands
Because some removers are toxic, be sure to dispose of applicators and wash hands when finished.
