What removes permanent marker?

To remove permanent marker stains from fabric, saturate the stain with rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover, allow it to soak for a few minutes, then blot the stain with a clean cloth, transferring the ink to the cloth. If using nail polish remover, choose one with no added color.

Continue to allow the marker ink to transfer to clean areas on the cloth. If necessary, apply more rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover. Once the stain is gone, launder the piece as usual or rinse it with clean water. Allow the piece to dry completely.
