How do you report fraud in the state of Texas?

Depending on the type of fraud, the Texas Attorney General's Office recommends reporting fraud to local police or district attorneys or else contacting the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center. Certain types of fraud should be reported to the Texas State Auditor's Office.
If the suspected fraud deals with the handling of public funds by state agencies, colleges or the like, the State Auditor's Office should be contacted.
The National Consumers League's Fraud.org website also offers assistance in fraud cases. The website can help connect consumers with agencies that can help them. Texas residents can also contact the Attorney General's Office itself for assistance.
