What requirements must be met to obtain a free tree for Arbor Day?

Anyone who buys a $10 membership to the Arbor Day Foundation can get 10 free trees as a gift. The types of trees members can choose from depend on the trees' hardiness, and the part of the country they are to be planted in.

In lieu of receiving 10 free trees, members can also choose to have 10 trees planted in a threatened rain forest or in a forest in the United States. Included with membership for the Arbor Day Foundation are discounts at its online nursery, a copy of "The Tree Book" and a subscription to its bimonthly newsletter "Arbor Day."
