What is a residential sewage lift station?
By Forinfos - 30/05/2025 - 0 comments
A residential sewage lift station is a pumping station that lifts sewage from a lower to a higher elevation. A sewage lift station consists of several elements, including pumps, piping, motors, floats and a wastewater receiving well.
Developers construct sewage lift stations to reduce the cost of constructing sewer systems or to overcome hydraulic head where there is inadequate gravity. Designers make use of submersible lift stations when the need calls for low head or low flow. The waste water receiving well provides a means for automation of the lift station using simple control mechanisms. Installation and maintenance of submersible sewage lift stations costs less than that of dry well stations.
