Restaurants are required by law to post their most recent inspection report from their local Health Department. Inspection reports are to be posted in a place that it can seen by customers.
If an inspection report is not posted a consumer can request to see a copy of the report. The consumer can also report to the Health Department that the report is not posted for the public.
When a restaurant is inspected it is given a numerical grade and placed in an operation condition category. Categories range from good to poor. Restaurants that have highly satisfactory standards in food safety are given the symbol of excellence.
