What is an RL circuit?

An RL circuit is a type of electrical circuit. The RL stands for resistor-inductor. This type of circuit is driven by a current source or a voltage source.
Resistors and inductors drive the RL circuit, although the number involved changes depending on the type of RL circuit. A first order circuit has only one inductor and one resistor. It is the simplest RL circuit type. In the RL circuit, the inductive leads the current and needs a finite amount of time to build the current of imposed voltage to its maximum allowance. RF amplifiers often use RL circuits combined with DC power.
