Is running bad for your knees?

Running isn't bad for the knees because the body's joints naturally compensate for the pressure being put on them while an individual is running. Running also doesn't involve an abundance of knee-bending and is a linear movement, according to a University of San Francisco study.
Running actually causes the cartridge to become stronger rather than thinner, which can eventually lead to osteoarthritis. Another reason that running isn't bad for the knees is that runners often have a lower body mass index, which means there isn't as much weight or stress on the knees. The more that an individual runs, the more his body sends the necessary resources to the joints.
