In 2005, a 13,422-mile long, 22-hour and 43-minute Boeing flight from Hong Kong to London set the Guinness world record for longest non-stop commercial flight. Captain Suzanna Darcy-Hennemann described seeing two sunrises during the trip, which began in Hong Kong and flew over the Pacific Ocean, across the United States and over the Atlantic Ocean before landing in London.
There were a total of eight pilots on the flight, who flew in shifts, and there were also about 30 additional passengers on board, including journalists, flight crew and some paying customers. This flight's route took a different path than the standard non-stop Hong Kong to London flight, which typically goes over Russia.
