Is it safe for dogs to eat walnuts?
By Forinfos - 24/05/2026 - 0 comments
Unlike human beings, dogs should not eat walnuts, since these nuts may cause serious health complications. Walnuts affect dogs because they contain mild levels of the poison called Aflatoxin.
In most cases, a dog who consumes these nuts exhibit certain symptoms that may include loss of appetite, lethargy, orange urine, jaundice, blood-tinged vomit and blackened stool.
Unless an affected dog gets treatment by a veterinarian quickly, the canine may experience liver failure within the next 72 hours of walnut consumption. Liver failure eventually leads to death, and that is why dog owners must seek professional help for their pet if they suspect poisoning.
