What is the safety rating for the 2015 GMC Sierra?

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gives the 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 its top safety rating, five stars. The rating is applicable to the four-wheel-drive and rear-wheel-drive models of the vehicle.

Crash tests on the front and side rated five out of five stars, while the rollover crash test rated four out of five stars. The GMC Sierra has six air bags, including driver, passenger, rear head and side head air bags. Other safety features include electronic stability and traction control, hill-start assist and four-wheel disc brakes. A driver can add other safety features to some models, such as alerts for lane departure and forward collisions.
