San Francisco has two cruise terminals, both of which are located on the Embarcadero waterfront at the Port of San Francisco, as of 2015. They are the James R. Herman (Pier 27) and the Pier 35 cruise terminals.
Opened in September 2014, the James R. Herman Cruise Terminal at Pier 27 is San Francisco’s newest terminal. According to the Port of San Francisco Cruise Commission, each year, over 80 cruises, such as the Disney Cruise Line, Holland America and Norwegian Cruise Lines, depart from the terminals, taking more than 300,000 people a year to vacation destinations such as Alaska, Hawaii and Mexico.
