There are two towns named Sault Ste. Marie, one in Michigan, the other in Ontario, Canada. They are connected by the Sault Ste. Marie International Bridge.

Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, is located along the southern bank of the St. Mary's River, which connects Lake Superior and Lake Huron. It is part of the state's Upper Peninsula region. Sault Ste. Marie is Michigan's oldest city; it was established by French missionaries in 1668.

Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, is among the largest municipalities in the Northern Ontario region, with a population of more than 75,000. Also established in 1688 by the same group, it became one of the oldest European settlements in Canada.
