According to a study conducted by the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Wright State University, contrary to common belief, there is no difference in the heart rate between male and female fetuses. Its study of 233 male fetuses and 244 female fetuses showed that the average heart rate was 154.9 beats per minute for males and 151.7 beats per minute for females.
