There are several ways to sell pearls, such as at an auction, through an online market, on a peer-to-peer auction site, at a dealer or at a pawnbroker. Selling at an auction is a method which offers the best profit return, as selling prices can easily escalate over value.

Before selling pearls, it is important to establish the estimated value of the piece. Consider the style of the pearls, the size of the pearls, the type of necklace and the grade of the pearls. If the surface of the pearl is flawless, the value is higher. Since most pearls are between 6 and 7.5 centimeters, any pearls larger than this are much more valuable.
