Do senior centers offer medical supervision?

According to Catholic Charities, senior centers do not offer medical supervision. Senior centers are designed for individuals over the age of 50 who are able to live independently. These centers provide access to activities, services and social interaction, but participants are able to come and go as they please.

Adult day centers are different from senior centers and generally have medical supervision and services available. These programs are designed for those who need assistance and support from professionals. Participants that can benefit from adult day centers include those with physical disabilities, those who have Alzheimer's or dementia, or those who are simply too frail to be on their own safely.
